Napoli And AC Milan To Make January Bids For Olivier Giroud

Milan and Napoli are lining up moves for out-of-favour Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud, according to reports in Sport Mediaset.

It is understood that both Serie A clubs will swoop for the France international when the transfer window reopens for business in January.
Napoli are still looking for a replacement for Gonzalo Higuain, whom they lost to Juventus for £76.5m in the summer, while Milan are looking for another striker to boost their chances of returning to the Champions League next season.
Giroud has started only once this season after injury and an extended break after Euro 2016, but has seen Alexis Sanchez continue as Arsene Wenger’s main striker despite his return to fitness.
The 30-year-old has only 18 months left on his Arsenal deal and has previously vowed to stay and fight for his place back at the Emirates.
However, he has also given any potential suitors hope by admitting he is unhappy with the current situation he finds himself in with the Gunners.
“I see my future at Arsenal until the date my contract ends,” he said this week.
“But I won’t lie, there have been times I’ve been disappointed and not happy with my situation.
“But the coach knows that. He’s the one who makes the choices. I’ll fight for my place.
“When I look from the stands at Arsenal, the team plays well and made a very good start to the championship, I tell myself that the train leaves without me and that I must not get too far behind.”
